Braghadeesh Lakshminarayanan

I am Braghadeesh Lakshminarayanan, a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, affiliated with the ELLIS Institute Finland. I am supervised by Prof. Dominik Baumann and Prof. Chen Qi.

I completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Decision and Control Systems, at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. I defended my doctoral thesis on May 8, 2026, under the supervision of Prof. Cristian R. Rojas.

I received my Master’s degree, M.Tech in Communication and Networks, from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in July 2020, where I was advised by Prof. Aditya Gopalan. Before joining IISc, I worked as a VLSI Engineer at Wipro Technologies, Bangalore, India, from 2016 to 2017. I received my Bachelor’s degree, B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, India, in 2016.

My research interests include parameter estimation, control theory, machine learning, optimization, and sequential decision-making under uncertainty.

Outside research, I enjoy jogging and Indian classical vocal music.

What does my name mean?

My first name is one of the names of Lord Shiva, the main deity of the Brihadishvara Temple. My last name is my father’s first name, which is one of the names of Lord Vishnu, Lakshmi Narayanan.
